Fans across the country were stunned Thursday by the news that wrestling icon Hulk Hogan had passed away.
On Friday, July 25, his wife, Sky Daily, addressed his death for the first time with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
“I wasn’t ready for this… and my heart is in pieces. He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time,” she wrote.
“This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart. Hulk loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him,” Sky Daily continued in her post.
She also shared that Hogan was a man of deep faith.
“I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home. Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality,” she concluded.
Emergency responders were called to Hogan’s Clearwater, Florida, home on Thursday, July 24, following reports that he had suffered cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead at the age of 71.
Hogan and Daily became engaged in July 2023 and tied the knot just two months later. She was his third wife. The wrestling legend is survived by his two daughters from his previous marriage to Linda Hogan.
