Mariah Carey says Rihanna once promised to get her signature tattooed on her chest.
During the July 24 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! with guest host Fortune Feimster, Carey reminisced about autographing Rihanna’s chest during her Christmas Time tour stop in Brooklyn — a moment that went viral back in December.
When asked if signing fans’ body parts was something she often does, Carey nonchalantly replied, “Not really.”
“Sometimes on someone’s arm or something,” Carey added. “That was a unique moment. We love Rihanna.”
Rihanna had promised to get the autograph tattooed on her chest, but Carey admitted she’s doubtful it ever happened. “She said she was going to, but somehow, I don’t think that happened,” she said.
During the rest of the interview, Carey discussed her upcoming album Here for It All, her first studio release in seven years. “I was just getting it together,” she explained about the long gap. “I would make, like, four songs, and then I’d be like, ‘We can start making an album now,’ and then I’d never do it. Then I got up to 10 songs and we were basically ready for an album.”
Earlier this month, Carey dropped the Type Dangerous remix EP, featuring Big Sean, Method Man, DJ Snake, and Brazilian singer Luísa Sonza. The project is a collection of remixes of “Type Dangerous,” the first single from Here for It All.
The 11-track album will also include “Sugar Sweet,” a “summery single” featuring Shenseea and Kehlani, as she told Apple Music.
Carey’s last album, Caution, came out in 2018 and featured collaborations with Gunna, Slick Rick, Blood Orange, and Ty Dolla Sign.
