Azealia Banks says she’s “honestly not surprised or mad at” President Donald Trump amid ongoing questions surrounding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
In a now-deleted and heavily criticized post on X, Banks—who has previously voiced support for Trump—argued that “fucking 14-year-old girls was really only made a social taboo in the 1990s.” She also mentioned teen pregnancy and “the rise of Jerry Springer” as part of her remarks, which she framed as being made “in Donald Trump’s defense.”
The deleted X post did not specifically name Jeffrey Epstein, who was ruled to have died by suicide in 2019 while in federal custody. However, Azealia Banks’ remarks surfaced amid renewed focus on the investigation into the late sex offender, which has been plagued by both conspiracy theories and legitimate inquiries.
Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend now serving a 20-year sentence, was recently reported to have completed interviews with the Justice Department after being subpoenaed for a deposition. According to her attorney, Maxwell answered questions about roughly “100 different people.”
