Rymir Satterthwaite, who has long claimed to be Jay-Z’s biological son, has dropped his most recent lawsuit against the rap icon, but says the fight is far from over.
Satterthwaite, who has been pursuing the case since 2010, dismissed his lawsuit earlier this week. He has consistently alleged that Jay-Z is his father and has accused the rapper of refusing to take a paternity test while using his influence to keep the case from moving forward.
On Friday (July 25), Satterthwaite addressed the situation during an Instagram Live session, making it clear that the decision to withdraw wasn’t about giving up or accepting a settlement.
“I have not stopped my fight. I did withdraw my case, but it’s for a reason. It’s not because I’m stopping it or I’m going to refile. It’s just a lot going on behind closed doors […] I have not gotten any DNA test. I have not gotten a settlement. It is not over,” he said.
Jay-Z’s legal team addressed the allegations just two weeks prior to the case being dropped, slamming the filings as part of a “decades-long harassment campaign” and labeling the claims “fabricated” and “rejected.”
The accusations, which Jay-Z has consistently denied, recently resurfaced in the public eye after Nicki Minaj mentioned the case on X amid her ongoing feud with Roc Nation. 50 Cent also got pulled into the conversation after rumors circulated that he was helping Rymir Satterthwaite with the case.
“Yo I never met this kid and I’m not helping him with anything, keep my name out of this sh!t please,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram, shutting down the speculation.
