UPDATED 7/29, 6:35 p.m. ET: Kenny Rodriguez has broken his silence following JaNa Craig’s announcement of their split, describing the days leading up to the breakup as “incredibly difficult.”
“I’ve been quietly sitting with a lot of emotions and doing my best to process everything privately,” Rodriguez wrote on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday (July 29).
“Breakups are never easy,” he added. “Especially in the public eye. Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term.”
Rodriguez said he was “grateful” for the time he shared with Craig and added that he’s ready to “release this chapter with no ill will.” He closed his message with, “Only a hope that JaNa’s path forward brings her nothing but happiness.”
Despite Rodriguez’s seemingly heartfelt words, Craig clapped back in another Instagram Stories post, calling her ex a “manipulative liar.”
“You not taking any accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is insane to me!!” Craig wrote. “My first statement was me being nice. Do not piss me off.”
As the drama between JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez continues, the specifics behind their split may soon come to light. Their friend group also appears to have fractured, as former Love Island USA castmates Leah Kateb and Serena Page have unfollowed Rodriguez on Instagram.

Love Island USA star JaNa Craig took to Instagram on Tuesday to address the swirling rumors surrounding her breakup with Kenny Rodriguez. Craig revealed that the real reason for their split was even more “disgusting and disappointing” than what fans have speculated online.
“Hi my loves… Thank you for all your love & support. It means the world to me,” Craig began. “As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together. Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is.”
She continued, “Discovering that someone you loved isn’t who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn’t been genuine since day one has been truly devastating. Thank you for respecting my privacy and please know as a child of God, I will always be okay.”
According to a TMZ report from Sunday (July 27), a source close to the former couple confirmed that JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez called it quits shortly after attending David Dobrik’s birthday party together.
Craig and Rodriguez first coupled up in the villa and went on to place third during season six of Love Island USA, while Serena Page and Kordell Beckham ultimately took home the win. After the breakup, Craig’s fellow “PPG” members, Page and Leah Kateb—both former Love Island contestants—showed their support by unfollowing Rodriguez on Instagram.
The exes also appeared together on the recent spinoff Love Island: Beyond the Villa, where tensions arose as Craig expressed a strong desire to move in together, while Rodriguez preferred to keep living separately.
