Paris Jackson and her fiancé, Justin Long, have officially called off their engagement.
PEOPLE confirmed the breakup between the 27-year-old singer-songwriter and the music producer on Thursday, July 31.
Paris Jackson took to X on Thursday, July 31, to confirm her breakup with fiancé Justin Long, saying she was crying “breakup tears” in photos published by the Daily Mail earlier this month.
Jackson had announced her engagement to Long in December, calling him “more perfect” than she could have ever dreamed. In the now-deleted Instagram post, she wrote, “Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind. Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.”
By June, the singer-songwriter was fully immersed in wedding planning. “The dress is being made, the venue has been picked and the date has been picked by an astrologer, because I’m from L.A.,” she revealed. “I’m all about the crystals and the astrologer, and all that stuff.” That same month, Long joined her on the red carpet at the Tribeca Festival for the premiere of her film One Spoon of Chocolate.
The daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, Paris has been open about her outlook on marriage and family. During a 2021 episode of Red Table Talk, she said, “I’m not against marriage and if I love someone, sure, but right now my main thing is my spirituality and my music,” adding that having kids in the future was a “maybe.”
She also opened up about her dating history and identity on Unfiltered: Paris Jackson and Gabriel Glenn, her Facebook Watch series, explaining, “I’ve dated more women than men… I say I’m gay because I guess I am… It has nothing to do with what’s in your pants, it’s literally like, what are you like as a person?”
Paris celebrated five years of sobriety in January. She dropped her debut album Wilted in 2020 and has since released multiple EPs and singles.
