Hulk Hogan reportedly had “no interest” in meeting his estranged daughter Brooke Hogan’s twins before his death.
Brooke’s husband, Steven Oleksy, told People that while he kept in touch with Hulk in case he ever wanted to reconcile with Brooke, he learned the late wrestling icon allegedly wasn’t interested in meeting his grandchildren.
“I sent text messages once again to kind of gauge where he was at, but there was no interest,” Oleksy claimed.
He added that Brooke’s brother, Nick, even offered to bring Hulk to their home to meet the kids, but it never happened.
Brooke and Hulk had been estranged for years. When she didn’t appear in WWE’s tributes to him following his death on July 24, she explained to critics that she wasn’t invited. “For those of you giving me crap for not attending my Dad’s tributes, @wwe did not extend an invite,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
After Hulk passed away from a heart attack, Brooke posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about their relationship, clarifying that it wasn’t one single “fight” that caused their estrangement but a choice she made to “step away to protect my heart.”
“I know in my heart I did everything I could,” Brooke wrote. “He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”
“All I ever wanted from my father was love, honesty and a deep connection,” she continued. “And for a few special years, I had that — with memories that will last a lifetime. My world is forever changed. But I’m deeply blessed with a loving husband and two beautiful children who remind me every day of life’s greatest gifts.”
