Meek Mill recently shared his thoughts on his bond with Jay-Z while giving props to some of his other hip-hop peers.
On Friday (August 1), the Philly rapper hopped on X to praise the work ethic of T.I., Rick Ross, and Jay-Z, even admitting he doesn’t always see “eye to eye” with the Roc Nation boss.
“Ross my brother,” Meek wrote. “I seen him and [Lil] Wayne go to the studio til 8am get back up and follow back up the next day… I had like 700k.. I realized n***as in the hood complaining high and waking up at 2pm …I weighed the scale and took the rich route no complaint just grind!!!!”

In his next post, Meek wrote: “Jigga my oldhead too… we don’t see eye to eye on every point because he a billionaire in another world and older than me but he my family too in my eyes… [He] gave my younger son his name, helped me get back home quicker to my older son! And gave me the blueprint!”
In 2019, Meek and Jay-Z co-founded the nonprofit REFORM Alliance, an organization focused on improving parole and probation policies, rooted in Meek’s own experiences with the justice system.
Last year, the group achieved a major milestone by passing an international resolution with the UN to protect the rights of those on probation or parole.
“In five years, I think we will change the way the system operates,” Meek told Complex in July about REFORM Alliance. “We’re trying to provide resources, change statutes and laws, so this doesn’t continue to grow as a problem, because we all know that the system that’s in place has not been working for Black and brown culture.”

Elsewhere in his recent X posts, Meek gave a special shout-out to T.I., calling him the “first” person to believe he could be a “major artist.” He added that the marketing support from the Atlanta rapper played a big role in kickstarting his career.
“The point I’m making I learn from the greatest directly, ima be one of the greatest to ever do this shit!!!” Meek concluded.
