Former President Barack Obama is ringing in another birthday, and his longtime love Michelle Obama made sure to shower him with affection.
On Monday, August 4, Michelle shared a heartfelt birthday tribute on Instagram, writing, “Happy birthday to my love, my best friend, my everything! @BarackObama, even after all these years, you’re still the coolest guy I know.” She topped off the sweet message with pink heart emojis and a cozy photo of the two sharing an embrace.
Obama turns 64 this year—marking another trip around the sun, and eight years since his time as president. The post quickly filled with fan comments wishing him well and jokingly begging for a White House comeback.
Though they’ve left the presidential spotlight, the Obamas continue to capture hearts and stay firmly in the headlines.
Just last week on her IMO podcast, Michelle Obama stirred up some buzz when she referenced ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, saying, “If I listen to ESPN for an hour, it’s like watching ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’… It’s the same drama, and they’re yelling at each other… I mean, Stephen A. Smith, he’s just like every other talk show host.”
Over the weekend, Smith responded during The Stephen A. Smith Show, addressing the comment head-on. Looking straight into the camera, he said, “I respectfully disagreed and still remain pretty salty about what you said about us.”
He didn’t stop there—Smith also took aim at Barack Obama, particularly remarks the former president made during Kamala Harris’ campaign, urging Black men to support her. Smith accused Obama of using emotional manipulation, saying, “There are issues that matter to every American citizen, and to sort of blackmail us emotionally to try and compel us to vote one way or another is what won Trump the election.”
