On Wednesday, Lizzo dropped a fresh freestyle where she name-dropped Sydney Sweeney and her headline-making American Eagle jeans campaign — the same one that stirred up some unwarranted drama involving Lizzo.
“Fat ass, pretty face with the titties, bitch I got good genes, like I’m Sydney,” she spits in the clip below.
Earlier this week, Lizzo hinted at new music on Instagram, sharing a video that included a clip of a Fox Business commentator reacting to Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle campaign.
In the segment, the commentator declared, “We’re over this woke agenda,” and name-dropped Lizzo and trans creator Dylan Mulvaney, saying, “We are over the Lizzos, we are over the Dylan Mulvaneys. If this was a 300-pound, non-binary person, they would be applauding her.”
Last week, the retailer responded to the backlash, shutting down accusations of eugenics-coded messaging in the campaign.
“‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story,” the statement read. “We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
The ad includes a voiceover from the Euphoria star, where she plays on the words “genes” and “jeans.”
