LeBron James made it clear he’s loving Gunna’s new album, The Last Wun.
On Saturday (Aug. 9), the NBA icon took to X to call the project a winner, writing, “WUNNA!!!! Man o man, You don’t miss,” followed by a salute emoji and five fire emojis.
LeBron’s support for Gunna has been consistent over the years. In 2024, the two linked up in Paris, where Gunna gave him an early listen to new tracks. The year before, LeBron shared on his Instagram Story that Gunna was “back at it.”
The Last Wun landed on streaming platforms Friday, packing 25 tracks and guest appearances from Burna Boy, Offset, Wizkid, Nechie, and Asake.
Speaking to Uproxx, Gunna explained that the album doesn’t follow a set theme, saying it reflects “what’s happening to me” in the present moment.
“I would say ‘alignment’ because I’m aligned with everything creatively that’s personally going on in my life,” he shared. “When it comes to music, this era has all been today in time—what’s current with me, what’s happening with me. I feel like that’s how it’s aligned.”
The project arrives during a period where artists like Lil Baby and Young Thug have publicly distanced themselves from Gunna over what they viewed as “snitching” in the YSL trial.
Back in January, Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow, shut down those claims in an X post, writing, “Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug’s case. THOSE THAT HAVE AND CONTINUE TO BAD MOUTH GUNNA, GET OVER IT. NUFF’ SAID.”
