Metro Boomin’s Civil Rape Trial Scheduled for September After Settlement Talks Fall Through

Metro Boomin is set to face trial in a rape lawsuit on September 23, 2025, after “unsuccessful” settlement talks with Vanessa LeMaistre, who accuses the producer of assaulting and impregnating her in 2016, according to Billboard.

In her 2024 lawsuit, LeMaistre claims she blacked out after taking Xanax and drinking alcohol in Metro’s studio during a recording session, later waking up elsewhere to find him sexually assaulting her while she was “completely unable to move or make a sound.”

Metro, born Leland Wayne, has denied the allegations, with his lawyers calling the case a “pure shakedown.” Court filings from Aug. 11 state both parties attempted mediation in July with a retired judge, but “continued limited settlement discussions” failed.

LeMaistre says she met Metro in Las Vegas that year, bonded over music after revealing the loss of her 9-month-old son, and later visited his California studio, where the alleged assault happened. She alleges she became pregnant, had an abortion, and that the incident is referenced in his 2017 track “Rap Saved Me” with Offset, 21 Savage, and Quavo — citing lyrics about Xanax and pregnancy.

Metro denies writing those lyrics and insists the encounter was consensual, accusing LeMaistre of fabricating her claims years later while under the influence of ayahuasca.

“These are false accusations,” Metro’s lawyer Lawrence Hinkle said after the lawsuit was filed in October 2024. “Mr. Wayne refused to pay her months ago, and he refuses to pay her now. Mr. Wayne will defend himself in court. He will file a claim for malicious prosecution once he prevails.”

LeMaistre’s attorney, Michael Willemin, stated on Aug. 12 that Metro “has failed to comply with basic discovery obligations” but added, “We and Ms. LeMaistre have pushed the case forward aggressively, and because of that, we are headed towards trial on September 23, 2025. We look forward to holding Mr. Wayne accountable in front of a jury of his peers.”
