Fetty Wap has given fans an update from behind bars, sharing his first new prison photo since last year.
Posting on Threads this week, the rapper shared a shot of himself leaning against a wall with his arms crossed.
“Free Zoo till Zoo Free,” he wrote in the caption, signing off as “Mr. 1738.”

The last time Fetty Wap posted a prison photo was in 2024, when he shared — and later deleted — an Instagram picture with a fellow inmate.
“You never no [sic] where life a take you but you find some good ppl along the way,” he wrote at the time. “I got a few homies I met during my time down that’s real stand up n***as .. my brudda Tay Banga da Prez & Da Mobsta.”
Why is Fetty Wap in prison?
Fetty Wap was named in a sweeping federal indictment in October 2021, accused of being part of a criminal enterprise that trafficked drugs across the U.S. He was arrested that month on federal drug charges, released on a $500,000 bond the next month, but sent back to jail in August 2022 for violating his release conditions before trial.
Prosecutors alleged that from June 2019 to June 2020, Fetty and others obtained more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine.
How long is his sentence?
He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and was sentenced to six years in prison.
Has he released music while locked up?
Yes. In 2023, Fetty dropped his 17-track album King Zoo, featuring his viral hit “Sweet Yamz.” The project included a personal message thanking fans for their patience and loyalty through his legal troubles.
Is he seeking a presidential pardon?
Earlier this year, his sister publicly called for his sentence to be commuted so he could return home. More recently, Fetty released a song inspired by his inmate number alongside a petition urging President Donald Trump to commute or pardon his sentence.
“Unfortunately, there have been many misunderstandings surrounding his current legal situation,” the petition states. “Contrary to widespread and often exaggerated headlines, Fetty Wap was not charged with trafficking multiple substances or leading a drug operation. He pleaded guilty to a single count: conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. That is the only charge for which he currently serves a federal sentence.”
