Doechii’s Name Caught Up in Alleged Concert Promoter Scam, Lawsuit Claims

A New Jersey concert promoter is facing a hefty lawsuit after allegedly failing to deliver on promises to book Doechii and SiR for a Baltimore festival.

Court documents obtained by Complex show that Atlanta-based Blackout Management LLC wired $187,500 to New Jersey booking agent Christopher Young in December, expecting him to secure both Top Dawg Entertainment stars for the AFRAM Festival. Young allegedly claimed he had direct access to the artists through TDE—but that turned out not to be the case.

By March 2025, Young informed Blackout that Doechii and SiR wouldn’t make the June festival due to “touring commitments.” But after months of what the suit describes as “delays and excuses,” Blackout discovered the artists had never been booked at all. Instead, the money reportedly ended up in Young’s company, Sacrifice Management LLC.

The lawsuit also claims that Christopher Young signed two separate agreements in May and June promising to refund Blackout Management, but no money was ever returned.

As a result, Blackout is taking Young to federal court on charges of fraud, unjust enrichment, and negligent misrepresentation. The company is seeking the full $187,500 deposit back, along with legal fees, interest, and punitive damages.

Despite the fiasco, the AFRAM Festival still went forward with a star-studded lineup that featured Patti Labelle, Juvenile, JT, Amerie, Teedra Moses, and others. Meanwhile, SiR spent the summer headlining his Step Into the Light Tour, while Doechii continued to dominate festival stages across the U.S. and abroad. This fall, she’s set to kick off her Live From the Swamp Tour in October.
