Willow Smith isn’t holding back after facing backlash for one of her recent Instagram Stories.
On Wednesday (August 13), the singer posted a photo of herself in tears with the joking caption: “Who ate all the pussy?”
Some followers didn’t take the humor well, prompting Willow to respond two days later. On Friday (August 15), she uploaded a video doubling down on the joke and calling out the criticism.
“Y’all n***as so dense, y’all forgot funny existed,” she said. “Y’all n***as like molasses—slow. Also sweet, though. Be sweet, too, yeah. But it was funny, shit!”
Willow Smith’s NSFW post, which featured her tearfully joking “Who ate all the pussy?” didn’t just spark laughs—it also triggered backlash from critics online. Some even questioned whether her bold sense of humor came from her parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Will and Jada share two children, Willow, 24, and Jaden Smith, 27. Will also has an older son, Willard “Trey” Smith III, 32, from his first marriage to Sheree Zampino.
Earlier this year, Will himself admitted that his parenting style may have played a role in how his kids express themselves. Speaking on UK’s Heart Breakfast with Jamie and Amanda, the Oscar winner said he regretted raising his children with what he called “radical honesty.”
“We made a very, very, very terrible mistake with our children and we went with radical honesty. But don’t do it, I’m not advocating for it, I’m not advocating for it,” Smith confessed. “We made a deal from really young with our kids. The deal was if you tell the truth, you won’t get in trouble.”
He added that the approach was a staple in his household with Pinkett Smith, though the pair have been living separately since 2016.
“The only way you can get in trouble in this house is if we find out you did something and you don’t tell the truth. It’s a mistake, it’s terrible,” Will Smith admitted. “Because they do whatever they want and then just come tell you. It’s awful—don’t try it. You want your kids to lie, definitely. You don’t want to know some of the stuff your kids are thinking of doing.”
