Lil Nas X will be spending the weekend in jail until his bail hearing next week following his arrest for allegedly assaulting a peace officer.
According to TMZ, the rapper won’t get a bail set until at least Monday, since there are other cases ahead of his. LA County Sheriff’s Department records confirm he’s currently being held in Van Nuys.
Unlike many misdemeanor cases where a citation and release is possible, this incident doesn’t qualify since it wasn’t considered nonviolent.
The arrest came after a string of unusual sightings. On Aug. 21, videos surfaced of Lil Nas X wandering Los Angeles’ Ventura Blvd late at night wearing only cowboy boots and underwear. In the clips, he was seen singing, joking with bystanders about going to a party, and even placing a traffic cone on his head.
TMZ also reported that police received several calls that night about a possible overdose. Surveillance footage from Aug. 20, nearly 15 hours before the arrest, showed him pacing around the Short Stories Hotel in Hollywood in the same outfit.
This isn’t the first health-related scare for the star this year. Back in April, Lil Nas X revealed he had been hospitalized for facial paralysis. Sharing a video on his Instagram Story, he attempted to smile but couldn’t move the right side of his face.
“This is me doing a full smile right now, by the way,” he explained. “I can’t even laugh right, bro, what the fuck?”
Still, he tried to keep spirits high in a follow-up post, telling fans not to worry: “Guys, I am ok!! Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!”
