Metro Boomin says he “would give everything” just to hug his late mother and talk with her again.

Metro Boomin is still grieving the loss of his mother, who passed away more than three years ago.

On Thursday (Aug. 21), the St. Louis hitmaker shared a heartfelt post on X, writing, “Would give any and everything times 1000 to give My Mom a hug and have a conversation.”

In June 2022, devastating reports revealed that Metro Boomin’s mother, Leslie Wayne, was killed by her husband—Metro’s stepfather—in an apparent murder-suicide in Georgia.

At the time, Metro poured his heart out on Instagram, writing, “My Mom was and still is my best friend in the universe, and anybody who really know me know I’ve always been a Momma’s boy my whole life. This don’t even feel like real life no more; it’s like a nightmare that never ends, and starts over every time I wake up.”

Wayne had always been one of Metro’s biggest supporters. Back in 2019, he celebrated her birthday by gifting her a new car with a purse in the passenger seat, calling her his “biggest inspiration.”

Last year, Metro honored her legacy by donating $100,000 to five women-centered nonprofits in his hometown of St. Louis. “I’ve seen firsthand the work that goes into being a single mother. Mine was my inspiration and my hero,” he said at the time. “It’s very important to me to pay it forward, because I see the same resilience and dedication in the women these organizations work with.”

Earlier this month, Metro dropped his latest project, A Futuristic Summa, featuring Atlanta heavyweights like Travis Porter, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Young Dro, Young Thug, 2 Chainz, and 21 Savage.
