Breaking news: Cardi B had to clear up a hair mystery in court—yes, she wears wigs.
During a Los Angeles civil trial on Tuesday, where she’s facing accusations tied to a 2018 assault, the rapper was put on the spot about her ever-changing hairstyles.
“Yesterday, you had black hair, short hair. Today it’s blond and long,” plaintiff’s lawyer Ron Rosen pointed out. “Which one is your real hair, or are they both real?”
Cardi gave him a look, laughed at the randomness of the question, and shot back with a smile: “They’re wigs.”
Rosen complimented her glam, adding, “It’s a good wig then,” before moving on to ask about gang affiliations (that question was quickly shut down with an objection) and how long it takes for her to swap into three-inch-long nails.

The lawyer grilling Cardi B in Los Angeles ended up testing Judge Ian Fusselman’s patience after repeatedly tossing out off-topic questions and brushing off the judge’s instructions to stick to the case.
On Aug. 25, Cardi B sat in court as the accuser, Emani Ellis, took the stand to recount the alleged altercation from her time working as a security guard at a Beverly Hills OB-GYN facility.
Ellis testified that she recognized Cardi in an elevator and said something like, “That looks like Cardi B” or “Wow, that’s Cardi B.” She claimed the rapper then turned back and snapped, “Why the fuck are you telling people that you see me?”
Ellis said she tried to calm Cardi down, assuring her she hadn’t told anyone, but described the rapper as still “extremely upset.” According to Ellis, she ended up with a cut on her face from Cardi’s fingernail, which she estimated was “two to three inches long” at the time. She also alleged that Cardi swung at her (without landing a hit), spat on her, and hurled both body-shaming remarks and racial slurs.
Cardi’s legal team has firmly denied the accusations.
