A woman wreaked havoc at Drake’s New York City October’s Very Own store on Tuesday (Aug. 26), taking a hammer to the storefront and allegedly attempting to set it on fire.
According to TMZ, the woman was caught on video smashing multiple windows at the SoHo shop, which first opened its doors in 2016. Police later confirmed she also tried to ignite the building.
Surprisingly, passersby seemed largely unfazed, walking by as she caused the damage. Dressed in pants and a bra, the woman eventually stepped out of the store appearing calm before leaving the scene.
Moments later, NYPD officers caught up with her, placed her in handcuffs, and searched her bag before taking her into custody.
The woman has since been hit with charges of criminal mischief and attempted arson, NYPD sources confirmed. A motive for the attack remains unclear, and Drake has yet to issue a statement on the incident.
The vandalism comes shortly after Drake made headlines for flaunting what appeared to be 2Pac’s Death Row Records chain. Suge Knight, however, wasn’t buying it.
The Death Row co-founder insisted the chain wasn’t authentic, calling out Drake while suggesting he confront whoever sold it to him.
“That’s not 2Pac’s chain. It’s not a Death Row chain. Whoever sold you that chain, Drake, you need to go beat his motherfucking ass. Crazy,” Knight said.
