A man has been taken into custody in Washington in connection to the June 7 break-in at Macklemore’s home, a case that has now uncovered ties to other high-profile robberies.
Authorities confirmed that 29-year-old Patrick Maisonet, the prime suspect, was arrested after a two-month investigation. His capture led police to raid a Seattle pawn shop, where they uncovered thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen goods linked not only to Macklemore but also to other local stars, including former Seattle Seahawks player Richard Sherman. The shop’s owner has since been jailed on suspicion of trafficking stolen property.
The June 7 incident unfolded while Macklemore was away. A nanny caring for three sleeping children was attacked by two men armed with bear spray. She described one suspect as taller and the other shorter. The taller man demanded, “Where are the jewels?” before forcing her to the master bedroom, where they stole jewelry, watches, and shoes. The suspects tried to restrain her, but she escaped by biting the shorter one’s hand and fled to a neighbor’s house for help.
Maisonet was already wanted after allegedly cutting off his ankle monitor earlier this year. He had been serving home detention for another home invasion robbery dating back to 2023.
His arrest comes just a day after prosecutors announced the capture of Earl Riley, linked to a series of home invasion burglaries targeting athletes like Seattle Mariners star Julio Rodriguez. Authorities have not yet confirmed if Riley and Maisonet were connected in these crimes.
