Pink is letting fans know she’s on the mend after contracting E. coli during a recent vacation.
On Saturday (Aug. 30), the “Raise Your Glass” star shared a photo on Instagram of herself sipping wine with friends.
“When you go on vacation and have food and E. coli decides to move into your gut you kill it with friends and daughters and red wine,” she wrote across the snapshot, also mentioning a “vitamin IV concoction.”
Pink didn’t let the sickness dampen her spirits, choosing instead to see the bright side. “Ahhh life and lemons and lemonade and great memories that I might remember,” she captioned her post.
E. coli (escherichia coli) is a bacteria commonly found in the gut, and while most strains are harmless, some can cause bacterial diarrhea and even severe illness, according to Health Direct.
Just last year, at least 75 people reportedly fell ill from E. coli linked to McDonald’s locations across the U.S. More than 20 were hospitalized, and one person tragically died from the outbreak.
The CDC reported that interviews with 42 of the affected individuals revealed they had eaten at McDonald’s prior to falling ill, with many specifically citing the quarter pounder hamburger. Two of the patients developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a dangerous kidney condition that can lead to permanent failure or even death.
