Authorities are still piecing together how a woman’s body ended up in the trunk of a Tesla registered to d4vd, who is currently touring the world.
According to KABC, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has shared early details about the discovery, made Monday at a tow yard in Hollywood.
“The decedent was found severely decomposed inside a vehicle on 9/8/2025,” the statement read. “She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found. We are unable to determine her age or race/ethnicity. The decedent was wearing a tube top and black leggings (size small). She has wavy black hair. Jewelry includes yellow metal stud earring and yellow metal chain bracelet.”
Investigators also noted a distinctive tattoo on the woman’s right index finger that reads “Shhh.”
When contacted by Complex on Wednesday, the medical examiner’s office confirmed the probe is ongoing and only limited details can be shared. Both the LAPD and d4vd’s team have also been asked for comment.
Earlier this week, the LAPD said officers responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue after reports of “a foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard.” Detectives arrived and found human remains. “It is currently a death investigation,” an LAPD rep told Complex.
Meanwhile, d4vd has remained on the road. Since early August, he’s been performing across North America on his Withered-promoting world tour. On Tuesday night, he played a show in Minneapolis, with Kansas City set as the next stop.
On Tuesday, KNBC reported that d4vd is cooperating with investigators following the shocking discovery.
“D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities,” a rep for the artist told the outlet.
