Cher brought back the Studio 54 magic, dancing the night away with her younger boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards.
The couple stepped out for the Valentino Beauty party at the legendary venue to kick off New York Fashion Week, where they hit the dance floor and grooved to disco classics together.
At one point, Cher wrapped her arms around AE’s shoulders as the two smiled and kept the party going on the dance floor. The star-studded guest list also included Colman Domingo, Evan Ross, Lourdes Leon, and Lenny Kravitz.
Valentino turned Studio 54 into a one-night-only celebration for the launch of its Rendez-Vous Ivory Collection.
Cher, 78, first crossed paths with 38-year-old Alexander “AE” Edwards during Paris Fashion Week in 2022, and not long after, the two were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles. Their romance has had its ups and downs, with rumors of breakups and reconciliations, but they’ve continued to show they’re still going strong.
Cher has openly defended their 40-year age gap, once tweeting, “Love doesn’t know math.”
She also addressed the relationship on The Kelly Clarkson Show, admitting older men were never really drawn to her. “Older men just didn’t like me all that much,” she told Clarkson. “Do you know what I mean? I have had a couple boyfriends that were hovering around my age, but they just didn’t like me for some reason.”
In that same interview, Cher reflected on why younger men might be more drawn to her. “And maybe younger men don’t care if you’re funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things, and you have the strong personality. I’m not giving up my personality for anybody, okay?” she said.
She then gushed over AE, admitting, “On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve. He’s very kind, very smart, he’s very talented, and he’s really funny—and I think he’s quite handsome.”
