Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good opened up about their wedding during an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, where they were joined by Majors’ mother, Terri Anderson-Watson.
The couple tied the knot in March after nearly two years of dating, with Anderson-Watson officiating the intimate Los Angeles ceremony and Good’s mother, Tyra Wardlow-Doyle, serving as a witness.
Anderson-Watson, who is a pastor, explained to Hall that she wanted to make sure the couple was spiritually grounded before marriage.
“Because this is a vow they’re making before God. It had to be for real. It had to be deepened. It had to be lasting,” she said.
“So, they actually went through counseling before they went to get that marriage license in Texas. So, they actually started with me. We went through sessions and they were sure,” Anderson-Watson shared.
She explained that her sessions with the couple focused on “commitment” and their shared “understanding of spirituality.”
Anderson-Watson also reflected on the challenges Majors faced after being pushed out of Hollywood following his 2023 conviction for assault and harassment. The actor was sentenced to probation and ordered to complete a yearlong domestic violence intervention program for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Despite the turmoil, she said she never lost faith in her eldest son, calling him her “superhero.”
“He was like, ‘Mom, it’s going to be OK, Mom. This is what happened. You’re going to hear stuff, but this is what happened. I need you to know this on the front,’” she recalled. “And because I know him, I know him. So when I married them, I knew that they were ready.”
Meagan Good was previously married to producer and motivational speaker DeVon Franklin from 2012 to 2022.
