D4vd has reportedly called off his Seattle show after authorities in Los Angeles confirmed the identity of the girl found dead in his car.
The 20-year-old artist, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was set to hit the stage tonight at Showbox SoDo, but insiders told TMZ the event has been scrapped.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.
Los Angeles police have launched a homicide investigation after a decomposed, dismembered body was found earlier this month in the front trunk of D4vd’s Tesla. The vehicle had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and later towed to an impound lot.
On Wednesday (Sept. 17), officials confirmed the victim as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas. Her mother told TMZ that Celeste had a boyfriend named David and had been missing for more than a year.
Before the identification, the medical examiner stated, “She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found.”
Authorities noted that D4vd has not been in Los Angeles for over a month, and it remains unclear who last operated the car. No suspects have been named.
TMZ also reported that both Celeste and D4vd share the same “Shhh…” tattoo on their right index fingers.
The North American stretch of D4vd’s tour is set to wrap on Sept. 20 in Los Angeles, with European dates kicking off on Oct. 1. At this time, it’s uncertain whether the tour will move forward as planned.
