TMZ reports D4vd may have recorded a song that references someone named Celeste. A demo — reportedly titled “Celeste” — appeared online on Wednesday (Sept, 17), just hours after the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the body found in the singer’s vehicle as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas. There is no confirmation of any connection between the song and the death.
“Celeste” features lyrics like “Be my valentine/I wanna make you be suicidal/ These are the kind of thoughts that cross my mind, just because.”
Other lines in the leaked track include, “Oh, Celeste/The girl with my name tattooed on her chest/Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes/Hear her voice each time I take a breath/I’m obsessed.”
The origin of the nearly four-minute track remains a mystery, though online sleuths claim it had been circulating on Discord servers before spreading to other social platforms.
D4vd was scheduled to hit the stage Wednesday night at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle for his Withered World Tour, but the concert was scrapped just hours after L.A. officials confirmed the body belonged to Celeste Rivas.
According to Los Angeles police, a homicide investigation is underway after Rivas’ decomposed and dismembered remains were found earlier this month in the front trunk of the singer’s Tesla. The vehicle had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills before being towed to an impound lot.
Rivas’ mother told TMZ her daughter had been missing for more than a year and that she had a boyfriend named David.
“She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found,” the medical examiner initially stated, prior to confirming the victim’s identity.
D4vd hasn’t been in Los Angeles for over a month, and investigators haven’t confirmed who last drove the vehicle. No suspects have been named at this time.
TMZ also pointed out that both Celeste and D4vd share the same “Shhh…” tattoo on their right index finger.
The North American stretch of D4vd’s Withered World Tour is slated to wrap up on Sept. 20 in Los Angeles, before he heads overseas for the European leg on Oct. 1. It’s still uncertain whether the tour will proceed as scheduled.
