Lil Durk’s high-profile murder-for-hire case won’t be heading to court this fall after all.
According to new federal filings on Wednesday (Sept. 17), the trial has officially been pushed back to January 20, 2026, with a pre-trial conference set for January 7. The judge cited the case’s “unusual and complex” nature, pointing to the sheer volume of evidence and number of defendants, making it “unreasonable to expect preparation” within the original timeline.
While Durk opposed the delay and pushed for the trial to begin in October, the ruling applies to him as well as his co-defendants, who supported the extension.
The Chicago rapper was indicted last October on charges of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and possession of a firearm. Prosecutors allege he ordered members of his Only The Family crew to target Savannah rapper Quando Rondo in Los Angeles back in 2022. The shooting left Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, dead after being caught in a car with him. Authorities claim the hit was in retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von, Durk’s close friend and OTF signee.
The case has already stirred major controversy in 2025, with allegations that Durk threatened witnesses and his team pushing back on the credibility of an FBI informant.
Charges against Timothy “Lul Tim” Leeks, the man accused of fatally shooting King Von, were dropped in 2023.
