On Saturday, Sept. 20, the two stars exchanged flowers — in the most literal way. Carey hopped on her Story to show off a stunning bouquet of pink roses gifted to her by SZA.
Tucked inside was a handwritten note from the “Snooze” singer that read: “MC, I’m so grateful for the love you have shown me. You’ve been a MASSIVE influence and inspiration to me and so many ppl! I can’t wait to hear the new album next Friday! Hope we can meet soon.”
The flowers came just days after Carey publicly showed love to SZA during a livestream with Kai Cenat on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
After unboxing the bouquet, Mariah kept the momentum going with a mysterious reply of her own. Her note to SZA read simply: “9.24.25. See you soon…”
Carey’s cryptic message has fans in overdrive, especially with her 16th studio album Here for It All arriving Friday, Sept. 26. The project’s tracklist already boasts features from Kehlani, Shenseea, Anderson .Paak, and The Clark Sisters. She’s also rolled out a lineup of remixes for the lead single “Type Dangerous,” enlisting heavyweights like Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, and Big Sean.
Now the question is: could SZA be next? Some fans are betting on a remix dropping soon, while others think Mariah’s note might just be a private invite to a listening party.
