Jessie Cave, the actress and comedian best known as Lavender Brown in three of the Harry Potter films, says she was blocked from a fan convention because of her OnlyFans account.
In a paid post on her Substack, Cave revealed she wasn’t booked for a Harry Potter convention after organizers told her the platform was linked to porn. “I found out that I didn’t get booked for a Harry Potter convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans,” she wrote. “They explained it was because it’s a ‘family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn.’ This was baffling to me as some actors who do conventions (most actors, actually) have done TV and films in which they’ve done sex scenes and nudity. I’m just playing with my hair!”
Though disappointed, Cave noted she’s not bitter about stepping away from Potter conventions, especially with HBO’s upcoming TV reboot set to introduce a new cast. “There’s going to be a new cast now and it’s a different time. Plus, I have done conventions for over 15 years and have enough photos and wizard memorabilia,” she wrote.
Cave launched her OnlyFans in March, focusing on “niche hair content” rather than explicit material. On her podcast Before We Break Up Again, she explained the move was to help pay off debt and cater to fans with an ASMR hair fetish, promising “the best quality hair sounds.”
Last week, she marked six months on the platform with an Instagram post: “Happy 6 months to me on only fanz the most empowering thing I’ve done in my life. I’m grateful.”
