Rubi Rose had to play peacemaker when Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul nearly squared up during their pre-fight face-off.
At their second press conference in Miami, tensions flared after Paul got a little too close for Davis’ liking. Davis shoved him, Paul tried to push back, and Davis quickly cocked his fist, looking ready to land a punch.
Before things turned into a real-life Street Fighter 8 showdown, Rose jumped between the two fighters, cooling the tension and bringing the energy back down.

Tensions between Davis and Paul trace back to a heated exchange at their Sept. 22 press conference in New York City, where Paul called Davis “stupid as fuck” after Davis appeared to fumble the fight date for their Netflix bout.
Paul also took aim at Davis’ height while describing his training, joking, “There’s a lot of punching down,” and adding, “Practicing hitting below my knees, and a lot of speed. We’re sparring some 8-year-olds, I got 8-year-olds in there.”
Davis fired back during the same event, issuing a blunt warning: “I know one thing,” he said. “If I [find] out anything, I’m going to beat your ass and I’m going to beat J’Leon Love’s ass. On my momma, I’m going to beat both of your asses.” The pair will clash for 10 three-minute rounds, streaming live on Netflix on Nov. 14.
