Alyssa Milano Embraces Freedom After Removing Implants: ‘Today I’m Free’

Alyssa Milano is opening up about the deeply personal choice to have her breast implants removed, calling it a liberating moment in her life.

On Wednesday, Sept. 24, the 52-year-old actress shared a photo on Instagram of herself in a hospital gown and surgical cap, reflecting on the emotions behind the procedure.

“Today I’m releasing those false narratives, the parts of me that were never actually parts of me. I’m letting go of the body that was sexualized, that was abused, that I believed was necessary for me to be attractive; to be loved; to be successful; to be happy,” she wrote.

The Charmed star continued, “Today I am loved, I am feminine, I am attractive, and I am successful. None of that is because of my implants. I will still be all of those things when I wake up and they are gone. There is so much and joy in that knowledge and freedom in letting go of what was never me in the first place. Today, I’m my authentic self. Today, I’m free.”

Milano’s heartfelt post quickly drew an outpouring of love and encouragement from fans and celebrity friends.

“I’M THRILLED FOR YOU! The heal is real baby! See you on the lighter side,” wrote RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage, whom Milano credited in her caption for being open about her own journey with implants.

Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger commented, “Love you! Your liberation will inspire and liberate others!” while Playboy model Summer Altice revealed, “Just had my explant yesterday. I really needed to hear this. Thank you.”

Over on Reddit, fans echoed similar sentiments, sharing their personal stories. “Removing my breast implants was the best decision I ever made! I love seeing celebrities being vocal about it, as that’s what generates media attention that reaches the general public,” one user said. Another added, “I love watching women take back their power.”

With Milano’s Instagram post already surpassing 96,000 likes, she now stands among a growing list of public figures using their platforms to reclaim their bodies and spark meaningful conversations about self-image and authenticity.
