Big congratulations to Rihanna and ASAP Rocky, who have just welcomed their newest bundle of joy!
On Wednesday (Sept. 24), Rihanna revealed on Instagram that their daughter, Rocki Irish Mayers, was born on Sept. 13.
Rihanna revealed her pregnancy earlier this year just before the 2025 Met Gala, where she was spotted with a growing baby bump on her way to her hotel.
Baby Rocki is the couple’s third child, joining big brothers RZA Athelson Mayers, born in May 2022, and Riot Rose Mayers, born in August 2023.
Back in April, Rihanna opened up about wanting to grow her family during an Interview Magazine chat with Mel Ottenberg. “I’ll have as many as God wants me to have … I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy,” she said.
ASAP Rocky shared similar hopes in an Elle interview published on Sept. 23, just one day before Rocki’s birth. “I hope it’s a girl. I really do. We’re praying for a girl. Our first time, we wanted to know the sex of the baby. The second time, we didn’t want to know. Third time, we don’t want to know until, you know … I feel like it’s going to be a girl. This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it’s a baby girl, man. I need that.”
Rocky even joked about baby names in a GQ interview, saying he’d happily name the first girl “Denzel” after his Highest 2 Lowest co-star, Denzel Washington. “Denzel, no matter what. The first female [to] come out named Denzel, it’s lit. We got it figured out.”
Hints about the baby’s gender had been circulating for months. At the global premiere of The Smurfs, Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier asked Rocky if “that’s the girl you’ve been waiting for?” The rapper grinned, replying, “It is, man. It is,” before holding up a Smurfette plush and joking, “Right here.”
While Rocky gears up to release his album Don’t Be Dumb and his debut fashion collab with Moncler, Rihanna has kept a low profile on the music side. Though rumors of a reggae-inspired album and studio sessions have swirled, she hasn’t confirmed a full project. Her last album remains 2016’s ANTI, though she did recently drop a track, “Friend of Mine,” for The Smurfs soundtrack earlier this year.
