Abbott Elementary creator and star Quinta Brunson and her estranged husband Kevin Anik have reached a mutual divorce settlement.
The agreement, described as amicable, comes six months after Brunson filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. A judge’s approval is still required to make the settlement official, according to TMZ.
Brunson and Anik married in October 2021, after announcing their engagement on Instagram in 2020. Despite her rising fame, Brunson has kept their relationship largely private, only mentioning Anik during award acceptance speeches.
Speaking with Katie Heaney for Bustle, the Emmy winner addressed public reaction to her filing, saying: “I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce.’ I didn’t announce anything. I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you. No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house, when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life. It’s just that that’s public record information.”
While the specifics of their settlement haven’t been disclosed, People reports it likely includes terms for spousal support.
