6ix9ine is reigniting his feud with 21 Savage, this time taking shots at the rapper’s immigration history.
During a recent livestream with DJ Akademiks, 6ix9ine didn’t hold back while speaking on Savage, even saying, “I’d really spit on that na if I ever see that na.” When Akademiks tried to ease the tension by pointing out similarities between them, 6ix9ine quickly drew a line: “I’m a US citizen, that’s what separates us. I have a blue passport. 21 Savage not from here.”
Savage, who was born in London but raised in Atlanta, faced a highly publicized immigration case back in 2019 when ICE detained him over an expired U.K. visa. The rapper eventually secured lawful permanent residency in October 2023, after years of legal battles. At the time, Jay-Z and Roc Nation rallied behind him, calling his arrest “an absolute travesty” and demanding his release so he could reunite with his children.
Attorney Alex Spiro, who represented Jay-Z and weighed in on Savage’s case back then, said, “The reality is these things happen all the time. It’s only when there is a person of prominence or whom the public takes an interest in that the light is shined on these issues.”
6ix9ine bringing up Savage’s status adds another layer to their long-running beef, which started after 6ix9ine’s cooperation with federal authorities. In 2020, Savage mocked him at his 28th birthday party with a mannequin dressed in a shirt featuring the animated rat from “GOOBA,” alongside the message: “ALL RATS DIE SLOWLY!!!!!!! Death to the rat.”
The following year, Savage also clashed with Wack 100 on Clubhouse, calling him “lame” for appearing alongside 6ix9ine on Akademiks’ Off The Record podcast. “I just feel like a gangsta and a rat can’t agree on nothing in life,” he said. “I don’t give a damn how right a n***a is.”
