An arrest warrant has been issued for Tyrese Gibson after his four dogs allegedly mauled and killed a neighbor’s pet in Georgia.
Fulton County Police Animal Services Capt. Nicole Dwyer confirmed Monday (Sept. 29) that the Fast & Furious actor is wanted on an animal cruelty charge, according to WSB-TV.
Authorities say they received a call on Sept. 18 from neighbor Harrison Parker, who reported letting his 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Henry, outside—only to find the dog dead minutes later. Documents show Henry suffered puncture wounds and severe internal bleeding.
Per CBS News, Tyrese’s Cane Corso dogs had reportedly been seen running loose at least five times in the week and a half leading up to the attack. Gibson was allegedly given multiple warnings.
In a 911 call right after Henry’s death, another neighbor complained that the Cane Corsos blocked her from reaching her car until animal control escorted her.
“It is the negligence on his part as the homeowner and animal owner, just letting them roam free,” Dwyer said. “And now they have killed an innocent animal.”
Tyrese had reportedly agreed to surrender the dogs to Animal Services on Sept. 22 but asked for more time when officers arrived. After refusing to hand them over, he was threatened with a search warrant. Police say both Gibson and the dogs were gone when the warrant was executed.
Now, alongside the search warrant, an arrest warrant for animal cruelty has also been issued.
