Rapsody has put an end to the rumors surrounding her canceled tour with Joey Bada$$ and Ab-Soul, addressing the situation with a clear and direct message.
The Dark Aura Tour was set to launch its 25-city run on October 16 but was abruptly canceled less than two weeks before kickoff, sparking speculation among fans. Some suggested the cancellation was due to low ticket sales, while others claimed Ab-Soul had relapsed, citing his recent freestyle on Mafiathon 3.
Though Rapsody didn’t provide a specific reason for the cancellation, she shut down the ticket sale rumors on Thursday (October 2). “Guys. Stop being simple. There are a number of reasons tours get cancelled,” she wrote on X. “Tickets sales was not a reason here. Relax. with love!”
Despite the tour’s cancellation, Rapsody assured fans that she, Ab-Soul, and Joey Bada$$ will reunite for a special one-night performance in Brooklyn next month.
“Joey. Soulo. Rap. Nov 19th. Brooklyn. See u there,” she wrote.
Neither Joey Bada$$ nor Ab-Soul have commented on the tour’s cancellation, but following his Mafiathon 3 appearance, Ab admitted on his Instagram Story that he “choked.”
Meanwhile, Joey Bada$$ and J.I.D. recently sat down for a new interview where they reflected on Joey’s back-and-forth earlier this year with TDE’s Ray Vaughn and other West Coast rappers.
“He said, ‘Aye bruh, get them n***as,'” Joey joked, recalling J.I.D.’s reaction. He then shared his own thoughts on the exchange, saying, “They got me fucked up. I’m about to Joey n***as. They got the wrong one. Let’s go. Let’s get to it.”
J.I.D. clarified that the tension wasn’t anything serious. “It was real slap boxing shit because nobody really hated each other,” he explained, adding that he considers himself more of a writer than a rapper, so he wouldn’t have gotten caught up in a beef like that.
