Real Boston Richey is asking a judge for permission to go on tour this fall after his federal drug retrial was postponed to January.
In a motion to modify his pretrial release conditions obtained by Complex, Richey’s legal team noted that he has fully complied with all court requirements so far. They explained that he’s received several offers to perform outside the North District of Florida—where he’s currently restricted unless granted permission—and is hoping to travel for shows to support his family.
The filing lists upcoming performances in Lansing, MI; Detroit, MI; Lafayette, LA; Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Norfolk, VA; Raleigh, NC; St. Louis, MO; Chicago, IL; and Hattiesburg, MS, with the total projected earnings estimated at $367,500. The shows are scheduled between Oct. 14 and Nov. 1.
Attached performance agreements show the breakdown of his potential income: a 45-minute set in Norfolk would earn him $35,000, while a night at Atlanta’s Opium would bring in $40,000.
Richey’s retrial, originally set for Sept. 29, was delayed to Jan. 27, 2026, after the government requested a continuance. The lead prosecutor reported being ill and caring for a sick child, suspected to have COVID or RSV. Since Richey’s defense didn’t object, Judge Mark Walker approved the postponement, stating that “the ends of justice” outweighed the need to proceed immediately.
The upcoming retrial centers on a charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana.
Back in August, Richey was acquitted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime—charges stemming from his 2023 indictment.
