The first-week numbers for Young Thug’s UY SCUTI are officially in.
According to Billboard, the album moved 52,000 album-equivalent units in its debut week, powered by 54.3 million streams. That performance secured Thug a No. 6 spot on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on the Top Streaming Albums chart—marking his ninth top 10 project on the Billboard 200.
The numbers came in slightly above HITS Daily Double’s early projection of 48,000 units.
Released on Sept. 26, UY SCUTI quickly grabbed attention for its striking cover art, which shows Thug with a noticeably lighter skin tone. Hours before the drop, the rapper explained the creative choice on social media, writing, “IF YOU WANNA BE THE BIGGEST….GO WHITE!!”
The project includes features from T.I., Sexyy Red, Lil Baby, and Quavo, and Thug extended his skin-brightening theme to them as well, later sharing edited photos of his collaborators with the same effect on Instagram.
To coincide with the release, Thug also launched a line of exclusive SP5DER merchandise, offering multiple vinyl covers and four SP5DER x UY SCUTI box sets that come with a CD, hoodie, shirt, and shorts.
Just days after the album’s release, Thug surprised fans with an impromptu performance outside the Fulton County Courthouse on Sept. 28, announcing the free, livestreamed show only hours before it happened to celebrate UY SCUTI.
