Diddy’s Lawyers Ask for Him to Serve Prison Term at Fort Dix

Diddy is requesting to serve his prison sentence at a federal facility in New Jersey.

According to a document obtained by Complex, the 55-year-old’s attorney, Teny Geragos, sent a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian on Monday (Oct. 6) asking the court to “strongly recommend” that Diddy serve his 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix—a low-security federal prison located near New Hanover, New Jersey.

The letter stated that the request was made “in order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts,” also urging the Bureau of Prisons to place him there for “any other available educational and occupational programs.”

Teny’s father, Mark Geragos—who has also represented Diddy for years—previously said on the 2 Angry Men podcast that the Bad Boy Records founder would likely have a target on his back in prison, even claiming someone had already threatened to harm him.

As TMZ reported, while Judge Subramanian can recommend Fort Dix, the Bureau of Prisons will make the final decision on where Diddy serves his time.

On Monday, former President Donald Trump told reporters that Diddy had reached out to him seeking a pardon.

“I’ve had a lot of people ask me for pardons,” Trump said. “I call him Puff Daddy—he’s asked me for a pardon.”

Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act, along with a $500,000 fine. You can read more about his sentencing here.
