Kamala Harris on today’s politics: “These motherf*ckers are crazy.”

While speaking at the A Day of Unreasonable Conversation summit in Los Angeles, Kamala Harris didn’t mince words about America’s political climate, declaring, “These motherfuckers are crazy.”

Taking the stage on Monday at the event’s fourth annual edition, Harris reflected on her election night loss to Donald Trump. “I couldn’t articulate anything else—I kept saying over and over again, ‘My God, my God,’” she said. “I had never felt that level of pain and grief except when my mother died, and it was grieving for the country. I knew what was going to happen.”

Later, in conversation with WNBA star Napheesa Collier, Harris urged creators to channel the emotions of this political moment into their work. “We are living history right now and you all as storytellers are living this,” she said. “You’re not passive observers… there’s so much about this moment that is trying to make people feel like they’ve lost their minds, when in fact, these motherfuckers are crazy.”

The Vice President’s new memoir, 107 Days, chronicles her 2024 presidential campaign and has gone viral for quoting Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA” in its opening. In the book, Harris also criticizes former President Joe Biden for calling her before a debate with Trump to warn her about “power brokers” in Philadelphia who wouldn’t back her. “I just couldn’t understand why he would call me right now and make it all about himself,” she wrote.
