Taylor Swift’s mom had quite the unexpected reaction to her steamy track about Travis Kelce.

Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, has everyone talking — and for good reason. Known for keeping her lyrics fairly tame over the years, Swift pushed the envelope this time with one of her most provocative songs yet.

The track, titled “Wood,” begins innocently with mentions of superstition, as Swift sings about her bad luck streak ending when she met her fiancé, Travis Kelce. But as the song unfolds, it’s packed with playful innuendos like “Redwood tree,” “magic wand,” and “new heights of manhood.”

During a chat on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mashup on Monday, host Nicole Ryan asked Taylor how her mom, Andrea Swift, reacted after hearing the track for the first time.

Hilariously, the 67-year-old didn’t pick up on any of the sexual undertones — and according to Taylor, she doesn’t plan on explaining them anytime soon.

“I think that she thinks that that song is about superstitions, popular superstitions — which it absolutely is,” Taylor said with a laugh.

She went on to explain, “That’s the joy of the double entendre,” noting that her lyrics can be interpreted in more than one way. “You could read that song to people and it just goes right over their head. That song, you see in that song what you want to see in that song.”

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Taylor told Jimmy Fallon that “Wood” didn’t start out as a risqué track. “It started out in a very innocent place,” she admitted. “I don’t know what happened, man. I got in there, we started vibing, and I don’t know how we got there. But I love this song so much.”
