Jennifer Lopez says that even after four divorces, her belief in love hasn’t faded.
The singer and actress, who stars in the upcoming musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman, appeared on CBS Mornings on Thursday (October 9) to talk about love and new beginnings — one year after her split from Ben Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck first dated and were briefly engaged in the early 2000s before reconnecting and marrying in 2022. They divorced in 2024 but have remained on good terms, with Affleck even joining Lopez for a recent Spider Woman screening.
During the interview, CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King reminded Lopez of her past comment about being a “hopeful romantic” and asked if that still holds true.
“One hundred percent,” Lopez said. “And the more self-aware I become with the lessons that I learn and the hardships that I go through, the more I feel whole and complete on my own.”
She added, “The more I become hopeful for that same type of person to come into my life. I’m excited for everything in the future.”
Lopez and Affleck’s appearance together at the Spider Woman screening quickly fueled rumors of a possible reconciliation. Affleck, who serves as a producer on the film, was reportedly the one who recommended his ex-wife for the role of Ingrid Luna — a part Lopez later described as the one she was “born to play.”
