A Los Angeles kindergarten teacher is showing that you can mold young minds by day and craft hip-hop hits by night.
Alex Ochoa, known in the music world as Otxoa, has gone viral after revealing he produced four songs on TiaCorine’s new album Corinian—all while keeping his full-time teaching job.
On Friday, Ochoa posted a TikTok from his classroom, vibing to TiaCorine’s “Booty,” one of the tracks he produced. The post blew up after fans noticed his caption: “TFW u produced 4 songs on the new TiaCorine album but you still gotta teach kindergarten lol.”
The video quickly went viral, and Ochoa later responded on Twitter, saying, “Haha yessir! That’s me! Teachin the kids and making bangers! I’d still be teaching even if I did get a big bag from making beats! Thank y’all for the love! Keep streaming Corinian!”
On Instagram, Ochoa celebrated the release of Corinian by revealing the four songs he produced: “Booty,” “LA LA LA,” “Damn Right” featuring Pouya, and “Impossible Girl.” He also shared that he engineered several other tracks on the album.
“CORINIAN OUT NOW!!! So grateful to have been able to produce 4 songs and engineer 11! Shout out @tiacorine for not only being an incredible artist but a truly incredible friend!” he wrote.
TiaCorine jumped into the comments to return the love, writing, “Love you so much literal best friend fr […] You really all over this album.”
In a follow-up tweet, Ochoa answered a fan asking how he landed the gig, revealing how his connection with TiaCorine began.
“Consistency, speaking up about what I do, hella research into finding new artists, and being professional,” he explained. “I met Tia ‘cause I DM’d her waaay back in the day and spammed her with beat packs. Just keep going g.”
According to music data platform Songstats, Ochoa’s credits extend beyond Corinian — he’s also worked with artists like Doja Cat, Casey Veggies, Theophilus London, MoneyMarr, Kill Nigel, and Holland Izz.
Raised on pop punk staples such as Finch, Fall Out Boy, and The Starting Line, Ochoa eventually fused those influences with experimental hip-hop and electronic sounds.
Back in high school, he formed a band with his childhood friend and even shared stages with acts like Metro Station and 3OH!3 before shifting his focus entirely to songwriting and production.
For those wanting to explore more of his work, Ochoa curated a 3.5-hour Produced by Otxoa playlist on Spotify showcasing his beats and collaborations.
