Kevin Federline and Britney Spears’ brief marriage was filled with drama, and in his new memoir You Thought You Knew, the DJ and entertainer reveals another shocking claim — that his ex-wife allegedly cheated on him with a woman.
According to an excerpt shared by USA Today, Federline says the incident took place at a hotel in Amsterdam during their marriage, which lasted from 2004 to 2007. The two share sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, now 18.
“Britney and I went to our room, but shortly after, she said she’d be right back. At first, I didn’t think much of it,” Federline wrote. “The hotel floor was ours; they had booked it out for the entire tour, so everyone’s rooms were nearby. But as time passed, I began to wonder what was taking so long.”
Federline recounted that as he made his way toward the elevator to look for Spears, he walked past a room where he found his wife with a woman named Theresa — and the two were allegedly making out.
“There she was. Theresa was sitting on the edge of the bed. Britney stood between her legs, hands on her face, and they were (expletive) going at it. Full-on making out,” Federline claimed in the book.
“It was one of those moments that hits you so fast, your brain can’t even begin to process it,” Federline wrote. “You just stand there, stunned, not sure what’s real. I didn’t say a word. Just stood there, watching. For a second, nobody moved. Then they both looked up and saw me, and I turned and walked away.”
He said he went back to his hotel room, which he shared with Spears, and shortly after, she followed him to apologize. Though he accepted it, Federline admitted he was still “furious.”
“I wasn’t interested in a relationship that involved more than two people,” he wrote, adding that during their time overseas, he realized he was “falling in love with Britney.”
Spears’ representatives have since accused Federline of trying to “profit” off the pop star with his memoir, noting that he no longer receives child support for their sons. In another section of the book, he alleged that he sometimes woke up at night to find Spears standing outside their boys’ bedroom holding a knife.
After their custody battle, Sean and Jayden were primarily raised by Federline and experienced a stretch of estrangement from their mother. Spears has since mostly reconnected with Jayden, occasionally sharing glimpses of their relationship on Instagram.
