Taylor Swift sent Teyana Taylor a thoughtful gift in honor of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Just days after the album’s chart-topping debut, selling over 4 million album-equivalent units in its first week, Teyana took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday (Oct. 14) to reveal that Swift had surprised her with a special package dedicated to the project.
Inside the PR box was a vinyl copy of Showgirl, a sweatshirt featuring the album’s title, and a handwritten note from the 14-time Grammy winner.
“Well hi!” the note began. “If you’re reading this, you’re someone who has shown love, someone I admire, and ultimately someone I’d want to celebrate with as we welcome The Life of a Showgirl into the world. I hope you like these gifts and record!”
It ended sweetly, “With love, a showgirl named Taylor.”
Teyana Taylor showed her appreciation for the thoughtful gesture, sharing on Instagram, “Thank you Tay Tay!!”
Some fans believe Swift’s gift may have doubled as a peace offering, following Teyana’s viral moment last year when she called out Kayla Nicole. At the time, Kayla had hinted at a past relationship with Iman Shumpert while he was still dating the Fade singer.
In August, Swift announced her engagement to Kayla’s ex, NFL star and podcaster Travis Kelce.
During an episode of Unapologetically Angel with Angel Reese, Kayla revealed she once dressed up as Teyana from Ye’s “Fade” music video for Halloween, jokingly trolling the singer for dating Shumpert. Though Teyana initially laughed it off, she later fired back on Instagram Stories, shading Kayla with Swift’s “Shake It Off” playing in the background.
Of course, Swift’s gift might have just been a simple show of support—she’s been vocal about loving Teyana’s new film One Battle After Another, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, and Regina Hall.
“Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor. How are they gonna split the Oscar in half? We will see,” Swift joked during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week.
