Bruno Mars just made history.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified his smash hit “Just the Way You Are” 21-times Platinum, officially making it the most certified single of all time. The milestone pushes it ahead of Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower,” cementing Mars’ place as one of the biggest hitmakers of the digital age.
Released in 2010 as the lead single from his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans, the timeless track became a worldwide sensation—topping charts in 10 countries and earning the title of 2011’s best-selling digital single with over 12.5 million copies sold globally. It’s still dominating today, closing in on 3 billion streams on Spotify.
“Just the Way You Are” won Mars a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and kicked off one of pop music’s most successful careers.
The record-breaking news arrives as Mars wraps up another winning streak in Las Vegas. Fans can still catch him perform the iconic song live during his Dolby Live residency at MGM Park, with his final shows of the year set for December 30 and 31.
