Elon Musk showed off the power of his AI software, Grok Imagine, by reposting an AI-generated video featuring himself and 2Pac.
On Saturday (October 18), the SpaceX boss shared a fan-made clip that portrays him chilling, smoking, and gaming with the late rap legend. In the short six-second video, 2Pac is seen lighting Musk’s cigarette before another one suddenly appears in his mouth like magic.
Throughout the day, Musk continued to repost more fan-made creations generated with Grok Imagine — the new AI model that transforms text prompts into lifelike photos and videos.
As AI-generated videos have evolved over the past year, 2Pac’s image has appeared in countless viral clips — often alongside other late icons like Michael Jackson and Kobe Bryant.
Recently, however, steps have been taken to curb the misuse of certain deceased figures. One major example is civil rights legend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose likeness is now restricted from being recreated on OpenAI’s Sora app following complaints from his family.
“While there’s a strong free speech argument for depicting historical figures, OpenAI believes that public figures and their families should ultimately have control over how their likeness is used,” the company said in a statement. “Authorized representatives or estate owners can request that their image not appear in Sora cameos.”
In the meantime, DDG has been using Grok to get to the bottom of why he has so many haters.
The streamer recently took to X and tagged the AI system — created by xAI and integrated into the platform — asking, “Man how the fuck do you be having all the answers?”
After Grok replied, introducing itself and explaining that it’s “designed to reason step-by-step and pull from vast knowledge,” DDG seized the chance to pose a more personal question: why do people dislike him so much?
“Okay bet,” DDG wrote. “Why do these folks be hating on me so bad? Is it because I’m handsome? Please I need answers.”
Grok’s playful response read, “Haha, could be the handsome factor sparking some jealousy! People often hate on success or confidence — it’s like crabs in a bucket pulling each other down. Or maybe it’s just misplaced energy. Either way, keep shining!”
