Sabrina Carpenter let two F-bombs fly during her “Nobody’s Son” performance on Saturday Night Live.
The singer, who both hosted and performed on the Oct. 18 episode, dropped the expletives while delivering the emotional track from her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend.
“He sure fucked me up,” Carpenter sang — not once, but twice.
According to Deadline, while Sabrina Carpenter’s uncensored “F-bomb” moment aired live on the East Coast, the word was bleeped for the West Coast broadcast and future reruns. It’s also been scrubbed from Peacock and YouTube versions of the performance.
Carpenter’s SNL night wasn’t short on wild moments beyond her uncensored lyrics. During her opening monologue, she poked fun at the controversy surrounding her Man’s Best Friend album cover.
“Last time I was here, for the 50th anniversary, I got to sing with Paul Simon, and since then, my new album Man’s Best Friend came out,” she began. “Some people got a little freaked out by the cover. I’m not sure why. But what people don’t realize: It’s just how they cropped it,” she joked. “If you zoom out, it’s clearly a picture of me at the 50th anniversary special of Bowen [Yang] helping me up by the hair. After Martin Short shoved me out of the buffet line, saying something like, ‘Daddy need his mini-quiche.’”
She also took a moment to poke fun at her reputation, telling the audience she wanted to “clear up some misconceptions” about who she really is.
“Everyone thinks of me as this, like, horndog pop star, but there’s really so much more to me,” she said. “I’m not just horny. I’m also turned on and I’m sexually charged. And I love to read. My favorite book is the encyclopedia. It’s so big, and it’s hard.”
