Donald Trump Reportedly Weighing Commuting Diddy’s Sentence This Week

President Donald Trump is reportedly weighing the possibility of commuting Diddy’s prison sentence.

According to TMZ, a senior White House official revealed that Trump could move to commute the Bad Boy mogul’s 50-month federal sentence as early as this week.

The insider claimed Trump is still “vacillating” on the decision, with some staff members advising against it—but added, “Trump will do what he wants.”

Diddy, who’s served 13 months of his 50-month sentence for violating the Mann Act, could be released in roughly two years without a commutation. However, if Trump grants one, it would effectively end his sentence early.

Following Diddy’s sentencing earlier this month, TMZ reported that his legal team reached out to a senior White House official close to Trump to discuss the possibility of clemency. Days later, Trump confirmed he was aware of the request, telling reporters on Oct. 6, “I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy—he has asked me for a pardon.”

Notably, Diddy had endorsed Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election.

The development comes just days after Trump commuted former Congressman George Santos’ 87-month sentence for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft on Friday (Oct. 18).

This story is still developing.
