Garcelle Beauvais has spent decades in the spotlight, but at 58, she’s embracing a new title that she says brings her the greatest joy — grandmother.
The actress and TV host graces the latest cover of Woman’s World magazine, where she opens up about family, resilience, and what it truly means to flourish in her fifties.
Beauvais, who began her career as a model before landing major roles in The Jamie Foxx Show, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Miami Vice, has spent much of her life in front of the camera.
Off-screen, though, her proudest achievements come from motherhood—raising her three sons, Oliver, and twins Jax and Jaid. Now, she’s finding new joy in watching her oldest, Oliver, embrace fatherhood.
“I’m so proud of him,” Beauvais told Woman’s World, reflecting on her son’s journey as a parent. “He’s such a great dad. He’s so present.”
She shared that time with her grandkids fills her heart—even if it leaves her wiped out afterward. “When I leave their house, I’m exhausted, because I forgot how busy toddlers and infants are,” she laughed.
One of her favorite parts of grandma life is her close bond with her grandson, Oliver Jr. “He has an iPad, so we FaceTime all day long,” Beauvais said. “It’s the sweetest thing.”
And when it comes to what her grandkids call her, Beauvais is all about keeping it classic. “Yes, Grandma,” she said proudly. “I didn’t want to do ‘Glamma.’ I guess out of respect and tradition of Grandma, which I love.”
In the cover story, Beauvais reflects not only on her family pride but on the legacy she’s passing down. Watching her son thrive as a dad has been both emotional and affirming. “What’s surprised me the most is how much I love not only seeing them, but also seeing Oliver as a dad,” she said. “As a grandparent, it makes me think, ‘You know what, I must have done a good job—because where else is he getting that from?’”
